The reaction to Cherchbi | Quarterre collaboration at designjunction two weeks ago was incredible, and our fifth birthday celebrations went off with a bang(er and mash). So now we’re two down with one to go. There’s still time to grab some tickets for Best of Britannia this weekend and see what all the fuss is about. Read on.

John Smedley collaboration

Having just celebrated our fifth anniversary we go ahead and launch a collaborative bag collection with the 228 year old John Smedley. A humbling experience in some respects, for obvious reasons, but also one which fills us with pride. A wonderful brand and wonderful people who are pushing said brand onwards into it’s third century of fine knitwear manufacture. Read all about it here in the Journal.

Five year anniversary

Our five year anniversary party was a robust affair, ale from the Hawkshead Brewery and Herdwick lamb and Cumberland sausages with mash. Even the Cumbrian weather we ordered arrived right on cue. Perfect. Read the full story here in the Journal.

Gin. GIN!

Days off have been a rarity recently, but last Sunday we did escape London and headed into the country with a particular purpose, the sourcing of the key ingredient for Mrs A’s Sloe Gin. Last year the blackthorn bushes were festooned, 2012 seems to be a fallow year but we did pick enough berries for three or four litres. Not all for personal consumption, last years supply started our Christmas gathering and filled the stockings of a few lucky folk. More on the creation of this potent brew in due course.
